Ring joints are increasingly used in the chemical and petrochemical industries. They are all metal seals and therefore comply with all regulations. Due to the nested sealing surfaces, the sealing width can be adjusted according to the surface pressure. The shapes of the oval ring connector and the octagonal ring connectordiffer significantly in the radius of the nested surfaces. The oval ring joints deform strongly during assembly, and the radius here seems to be too small. For ring joint gasket, precise fitting sealing surfaces and very high bolting forces are required. The radius of the elliptical ring is half the width of the spacer, while the radius of the octagonal ring joint is infinite. The solution is an octagonal male ring joint with a tapered face as the sealing face.
